He delivered her first child two weeks early, claiming that it was medically necessary, yet the baby only weighed 5 lbs. 5 oz. at birth. There were NO complications to indicate an induction was needed. She also mentioned that at least 5 other women she knows have had problems with him similar to those I described. I didn't have much doubt about my decision before today, but now I certainly have NO doubt that I'm doing the right thing.AcadeMamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15510282285225998011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34759951.post-16832820016112188202009-04-17T08:18:00.000-07:002009-04-17T08:18:00.000-07:00I agree that it hurts! My son was a preemie, so I was only checked once (just before getting the okay for an epidural) and it was the most painful part of the entire birthing process for me. And BTW I loved my doctor, but that made it no less painful.Jenniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00295313334259235591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34759951.post-8026605695810637222009-04-17T05:55:00.000-07:002009-04-17T05:55:00.000-07:00I second not having your cervix checked. I never let my doctor check my cervix when I was carrying Wild Man and I don't plan to let my midwife check me this go round.Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18353657968740060474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34759951.post-54480963450142817742009-04-14T13:24:00.000-07:002009-04-14T13:24:00.000-07:00This sounds bad, but I'm glad to hear someone else...This sounds bad, but I'm glad to hear someone else say that it hurts, because it confirms what an ass my dr. is. It turns out that, as he was checking my cervix and I was writhing in visible pain, he gave Hubby a look of "It really doesn't hurt..she's just being dramatic." !!!! The OB that delivered my oldest daughter told me that my cervix is tilted which might make exams more painful...too bad she's not here to explain this to my current doctor!AcadeMamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15510282285225998011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34759951.post-54792327683556765652009-04-14T13:09:00.000-07:002009-04-14T13:09:00.000-07:00Amen to that-- no one told me that them checking f...Amen to that-- no one told me that them checking for dilation would hurt so muchLisa Dunickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08530026652363687161noreply@blogger.com
