Also, I had the privilege of needing a consult with a GI specialist too (I won't go into the details of why)....Now, I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy.
Do you know what that means? I had No. Freaking. Idea. The madness involved with prepping for this procedure. Seriously shoot me now because I'm pretty sure I'll want to hand myself halfway through all the prep steps. Hubby has suggested I go stay with my mother during the 24 hour fasting and "cleansing" period. So much for "in sickness and in health."
Oh, and my consult with the neurosurgeon is tomorrow morning. Let's cross our fingers for the no-neck-surgery option, mmk?

I've done a colonoscopy before and although the preparation sounds horrible (and I did know a bit about it because both of my parents have had this exam a few times), it wasn't as bad as I expected. The drinking of the huge gatorade with MiraLax (that's what was prescribed plus the softeners) was very disagreeable, but the effects themselves were not comparable to actually being sick with the stomach flu or anything which for me was a relief. I didn't feel that hungry, but I was very weak when it was all over the next afternoon. Oh, and it was my first time undergoing general anesthesia since 4 years old (tonsils out). I found that interesting...
